Title: Health Literacy Awareness
Category: Health Literacy Awareness
Description: Shared decision making is a joint process in which a healthcare professional works together with a person to reach a decision about care.
Nearly half the adults in England (43%) struggle to read and understand health information. When that information includes word and numbers, that rises to 61%.
Empower people to make more informed decision about their health through our health literacy awareness sessions.
Accredited by the Royal Society of Public Health this one hour awareness session will be delivered via MS Teams.
The session will explore the impact of low levels of health literacy and also signpost to helpful resources to enable staff to learn easy to use techniques to improve communication, supporting the understanding of the people they treat and care for. As a result, patients, families and carers will be able to make better health and wellbeing choices.
