What is an NHS OpenAthens password?
OpenAthens is a secure logging that gives you access to electronic resource. You may have previously had an OpenAthens account when you were studying at University; however, registering for an NHS OpenAthens account ensures that you can access all the electronic resources purchased by your specific Trust and also those purchased on a national basis.
How do I access the electronic resources?
Access is controlled and requires you to register for an NHS OpenAthens username and password.
What electronic resources are available?
24 hour access to electronic journals, electronic books and healthcare databases is available via the internet. Further information about our online resources can be found on our resources page.
What if I am unable to get to the library?
You do not need to physically visit the library to make use of our services. Phone, fax or email us and we will be able to help you.

The libraries offer a wide range of printed books, journals, electronic journals, electronic books, health promotion resources including models and games and access to healthcare databases.

The libraries offer a fast and reliable enquiry service, group and one-to-one training, assistance in conducting literature searches, quiet workspace and internet access, printing and photocopying facilities, a current awareness information service, and an inter-library loan system enabling you to borrow books from other local libraries and the British Library (charges may apply).
