Social prescribing is a means of enabling GPs, nurses and other primary care professionals to refer people to a range of local, non-clinical services.  It is also possible for people to self-refer.

Feeling connected to your community has lots of health and wellbeing benefits that support resilience, independence and good physical and mental health.

Social Prescribing organisations aim to connect people to services and activities in their community in order to benefit overall health and wellbeing.  Examples include volunteering, arts activities, group learning, gardening, befriending, cookery, healthy eating advice and a range of sports.

Linking Leeds is the integrated social prescribing service for Leeds.  This city-wide service aims to link people to services and activities in their community.
